Open the Google Play Store

Tip: The Play Store icon looks like a colorful triangle. Use your remote's directional pad to navigate.

Search for Your Chosen App

Find TiviMate or IPTV Smarters

Use the search function to look for your chosen app:

  • TiviMate: Search for "TiviMate IPTV Player"
  • IPTV Smarters: Search for "IPTV Smarters Pro"

Tip: Use your remote's OK/Enter button to access the search bar, then use the on-screen keyboard.

Install the App

Download and install to your TV

Installing an IPTV app on Android TV

Select your chosen app from the search results and click 'Install'. Wait for the download and installation to complete.

Tip: Installation usually takes 1-3 minutes depending on your internet speed and TV performance.

Launch the app and choose your setup method:

  • TiviMate: Click "Add Playlist" and select "Xtream Codes API"
  • IPTV Smarters: Choose "Login with Xtream Codes API"

Tip: Xtream Codes API provides the best experience with EPG (TV Guide) and VOD support.

Field mapping: Xtream Codes API uses Server URL + Username + Password. M3U method uses the playlist URL directly.

Tip: Use the TV remote to navigate between fields. Double-check each entry for typos.

The app will verify your credentials and load your content. This includes:

  • Live TV channels with EPG (TV Guide)
  • Movies and Series (VOD library)
  • Channel groups and favorites

Success! Loading may take 2-5 minutes initially. Use your remote to navigate and explore all features.

Optional: Sideload via Downloader If your app isn't available on Play Store

Advanced Users Only: Sideloading requires enabling "Unknown Sources" and carries security risks.

If your preferred IPTV app isn't available on the Play Store, you can sideload it:

  1. Install "Downloader" from the Play Store
  2. Go to Android TV Settings > Device Preferences > Security & Restrictions
  3. Enable "Unknown Sources" for the Downloader app
  4. Open Downloader and enter the APK download URL
  5. Install the downloaded APK file

Important: Only download APKs from trusted sources. Contact our support team for verified download URLs if needed.

Troubleshooting

App won't connect or login fails

Double-check credentials for typos. Ensure your Neo4K subscription is active. Try restarting both the app and your Android TV device.

Video playback issues or buffering

Toggle hardware decoder off in app settings. Increase buffer size to 1-3 seconds. Use Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi for better stability.

Clear app cache and data

Go to Android TV Settings > Apps > [Your IPTV App] > Storage > Clear Cache/Clear Data. This resets the app to default settings.

Test with mobile hotspot

Connect your Android TV to a mobile hotspot to rule out ISP throttling or blocking. If it works on mobile data, contact your internet provider.

Remote control not responding in app

Some apps may not respond well to certain remotes. Try using the Android TV Remote app on your phone, or check if your app has remote control settings to adjust.

Why isn't my IPTV app available on the TV Play Store?

Some IPTV apps are region-restricted or not available on Android TV Play Store. You can sideload them using the Downloader method described above, or try alternative apps that are available.

EPG (TV Guide) is missing or not updating

EPG updates can take time. Check your app's EPG settings and ensure it's set to auto-update. Some apps require manual EPG refresh in the settings menu.

Channel groups are empty or not loading

This usually indicates a playlist loading issue. Check your internet connection, verify credentials, and try refreshing the playlist in your app's settings.

Do I need to pay extra for recording/premium features?

Premium app features (like TiviMate Premium) are separate from your Neo4K subscription. These are app-specific purchases that unlock additional functionality like recording and advanced EPG features.

Is it safe to use a VPN on my Android TV?

Yes, VPNs are safe and often helpful for IPTV streaming. They can improve performance if your ISP throttles video traffic. Install a reputable VPN app from the Play Store and connect before launching your IPTV app.
